Mount Langi Ghiran

Andrew Caillard MW

Mount Langi Ghiran is one of Victoria’s emblematic wineries with a reputation for forging the State’s cool climate shiraz agenda. Mount Langi Ghiran Langi Shiraz stands out as one of Australia’s great shirazes with a reputation for its cellar-worthy style. The 2022 is an excellent example. In addition, 2022 Mast Shiraz and 2022 Talus Shiraz offer a variation on the cool-climate theme but possess presence and classicism. Considering the challenges of the growing season, these flagship wines transcend expectations and highlight meticulous handling and selection. The exemplary Cliff Edge releases are based on Mount Langi Ghiran estate vineyards and draw from well-established blocks. The 2022 Cliff Edge Riesling has a gentle viscosity and mineral line which makes it stand out. The 2024 Cliff Edge Shiraz is classical and generous while the 2021 Cliff Edge Cabernet Merlot has evolved into a very complete and pleasing wine.
