Phil Reedman MW

Phil Reedman MW is an experienced wine educator, consultant and judge with more than thirty years’ experience across the international wine trade, wine education and consultancy.

He is a Master of Wine with more than three decades of experience spanning the international wine trade, consultancy, judging and education. Phil began his career as a wine waiter in England (the term ‘sommelier’ was not much used in the early 1980s in the English provinces) before travelling extensively through Europe and developing his expertise through WSET studies. A trio of vintages in Alsace, the Barossa and the Douro further broadened his experience and gave him the confidence to embark on the MW examination, which he passed in 1996. Based in Adelaide since 1998, he has worked as a wine buyer and product development manager for a major UK retailer, sourcing and blending wines from around the world. Since establishing his own consultancy in 2007, Phil has worked with wineries, retailers and hotel groups, while also contributing as a judge at wine shows and the AWRI’s Advanced Wine Assessment Course. He teaches WSET programmes across Australia, New Zealand and Taiwan and works with aspiring MW students internationally.
