2022 Hewitson Old Garden Vineyard Mourvèdre, Barossa Valley – South Australia

Liquorice, cedar roasted chestnut, black cherry aromas. Inky deep black cherry, cedar, marzipan flavours, slinky firm tannins and underlying fresh mineral acidity. Cedar finish. Still elemental - with the oak dominant but beautifully structured wine. Vanilla marzipan notes extend past the finish. Exemplary wine. 100% Mataro Drink 2028 -2042 14% alc 96 points

2022 Hewitson Barrel 1858, Barossa Valley – South Australia

Medium deep colour. Fresh elderberry, dark plum, blackberry pastille aromas with cedar roasted chestnut notes. Claret like with lovely ripe dark beet fruits, roasted chestnut, vanilla notes and persistent fine-grained tannins. Finishes firm with a lacy plume. Drink now - 2042 50% Mataro 50% Shiraz. 14% alc 96 points

2022 Hewitson Monopole Mother Vine Shiraz, Barossa Valley – South Australia

Medium deep crimson. Fresh blackberry pastille aniseed aromas with hints of espresso. Supple pure blackberry, dark cherry fruits, chalky form tannins and underlying marzipan. Roasted almond notes. Finishes chalky firm and long with liquorice notes. Very well-balanced wine from second generation 1853 mother vine material. Single Vineyard. Drink now -2034 13.5% alc 95 points

2022 Hewitson Dorrien Bank Cabernet Sauvignon, Barossa Valley – South Australia

Medium deep crimson. Intense dark and red berries, oyster shell, bush garrigue hint cedar aromas. Supple cassis, redcurrant flavours, roasted chestnut, marzipan notes. Finishes firm and tight with minty blackcurrant notes. Drink now – 2034 13.5% alc 92 points

2023 Hewitson Ned & Henry’s Shiraz, Barossa Valley – South Australia

Medium deep crimson. Attractive blackberry, roasted walnut aromas with some peppery notes. Supple and velvety textured with ample blackberry, roasted walnut, touch ginger, peppery flavours and fine slinky tannins. Finishes chocolaty and long with juicy dark berry fruits and hint leafy notes. A versatile and classic Barossa style for early or medium term drinking. 14% alc 93 points

2023 Hewitson The Mad Hatter Shiraz, Barossa Valley – South Australia

Medium deep crimson. Alluring black cherry, red currant, roasted walnut, aromas with bush garrigue notes. Generously concentrated black cherry, chinotto flavours with well-integrated roasted walnut, cedar notes and fine sinuous/polished tannins. Finishes firm and lasting with bittersweet/ liquorice notes. 13.5% alc 94 points

2023 Hewitson Strawberry Hill Shiraz, Barossa Valley – South Australia

Medium deep crimson. Fresh blackberry pastille, raspberry fruits with lovely mocha, roasted chestnut, dried roses notes. Smooth and velvety textured wine with lovely pure blackberry, raspberry fruits, fine loose knit textures, underlying roasted chestnut, marzipan notes and persistent quartz-like freshness. Builds up cedar, hint leafy firm with chinotto/ dark chocolate/ bittersweet nuances. A beautifully balanced wine with super definition, vinosity and flow. Drink 2026 – 2038 13.5% alc 96 points
