2023 Yangarra ‘Ovitelli’ Blanc, McLaren Vale – South Australia

Pale colour. Lifted apricot, white peach ginger aromas with tonic water, flinty nuances. Very expressive and creamy textured with apricot, white peach, camomile flavours, fine looseknit chalky textures, lovely mid-palate viscosity and well-integrated quartz-like acidity. Flinty, bittersweet and mouthwatering at the finish. Bloody good. 56% grenache blanc 17% grenache gris 17% rousanne 7% clairette 3% bourboulenc. Drink now – 2028+ 13% alc 96 points

2023 Yangarra Hickinbotham Grenache, McLaren Vale – South Australia

Light crimson. Fresh pure red cherry, strawberry aromas with hints of bush garrigue. Supple and fleshy in texture with unfold in pure red cherry, strawberry, chinotto flavours, fine loose-knit chalky textures, attractive mid palate richness and fresh mineral acidity. Much weightier than the colour suggests. Crunchy and juicy at the finish. From 1962-planted vines. Drink now – 2028 13.5% alc 93+ points

2023 Yangarra ‘Ovitelli’ Grenache, McLaren Vale – South Australia

Light crimson. Intense and lifted red currant, red cherry, strawberry aromas with red liquorice/ aniseed notes. Mouth-filling and generous with ample strawberry pastille, red currant fruits, fine slinky/ al dente textures, plentiful mid palate viscosity and fresh long crispy acidity. Builds up chalky dry and bittersweet with aniseed/ hint herb garden notes. A vinous negroni. 1946-planted bush vines. Drink now – 2030 13.5% alc 94 points

2023 Yangarra High Sands Grenache, McLaren Vale – South Australia

Light to medium crimson. Beautiful pure strawberry, chinotto aromas with camomile, hint aniseed notes. Generously concentrated with attractive strawberry, red cherry pastille, cola flavours, fine looseknit chalky, touch al dente textures, very good mid palate viscosity and fresh long crisp acidity. Finishes minerally, bittersweet and firmish with seductive red fruits. Allow a year for the elements to fold and integrate. From the highest block of 1946-planted bush vines. Drink 2026 – 2032 13.5% alc 95+ points

2023 Yangarra King’s Wood Shiraz, McLaren Vale – South Australia

Deep crimson. Intense brambly, blackberry, dark chocolate aromas with flinty, touch pepper notes. Richly concentrated and inky textured with abundant blackberry, blueberry, black pepper flavours, fine slinky, touch sinewy tannins and fresh pure long acidity. Finishes firm and tight with flinty, earthy, sappy notes. Would benefit from some more bottle age. Drink 2026 – 2034 13.5% alc 94 points

2022 Yangarra Iron Heart Shiraz, McLaren Vale – South Australia

Deep crimson. Classical blackberry dark chocolate aromas with hints of rose petal/ aniseed. Superbly concentrated wine with ample blackberry, dark chocolate, espresso flavours, vigorous chocolaty textures and underlying savoury roasted walnut mores. Finishes claret firm with inky chinotto notes. Polished and glossy. Should develop very well. Drink now – 2036 14% alc 96 points
